The Set

As usual, we will be performing this show in the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse in Walton-on-Thames.

Here is the plan of the stage.

Here are my notes on the requirements for each scene:

 

There is a white cyc on the back wall of the stage to project slides onto.

 

The audience enters and sees the HOUSE TABS in.

ACT ONE

SFX: Countdown, Announcement and thunder

PROLOGUE – Somewhere in Pantoland (In front of the 1st ‘blacks’)

 

A1/S1 – Pantoland Market Square (Full stage)

Market slide 1 (happy version)

We are in the main village of Pantoland. All is bright and beautiful.

There is a cheerful fountain in the middle, the Fountain of Happiness. (Ideally, this is set behind the line of the 2nd ‘blacks’.)

There is also a tatty joke stall called Goosebottom’s Glorious Gags.

 

A1/S2 – A Country Lane (In front of the 1st ‘blacks’)

 

A1/S3 – Pantoland Market Square (Full Stage)

Market slide 1 (happy version)

We are in the main village of Pantoland. Fountain and joke stall.

Time Warp, Parcels routine

 

A1/S4 – A Country Lane (In front of the 1st ‘blacks’)

Bring 1st ‘blacks’ in

Bring 2nd ‘blacks’ in

Set the low wall behind the 1st ‘blacks’

Take the 1st ‘blacks’ out to reveal Cinders with her pretty flowers and wall in place

Played in front of the 2nd ‘blacks’

Remove Fountain during this scene

Bench and ghost scene

People come on – Spirit is dying

The Fountain is replaced on stage

 

A2/S8 – Pantoland Market Square (Full Stage)

Market slide 2 (sad version)

We are in the main village of Pantoland. Fountain and joke stall. The fountain could have creeper (that can easily be taken off) all over it.

Conkers & Bonkers poison the fountain

Total disaster

Spirit dies

Do you believe in fairies?

Slide changes to Market slide 1 (happy version)

Spirit comes back to life

Mouldy and Snitch are forgiven

Prince proposes, Cinders accepts
