Herod Antipas, was a 1st-century ruler of Galilee and Perea, who bore the title of tetrarch (“ruler of a quarter”) and is referred to as “King Herod” in the New Testament although he never held the title of king.

His father was Herod the Great who was responsible for the Massacre of the Innocents when Jesus was a baby.

No-one really knows what he looked or dressed like though there have been some eductated guesses.

King Herod is traditionally allowed to be off the wall in Jesus Christ Superstar. His song is quite unlike any other in the show as it was originally written for the Eurovision Song Contest.

My current ideais well off the wall!
