Confederate Memorial Day, also known as Confederate Decoration Day (in Tennessee) and Confederate Heroes Day (in Texas), is an official holiday and/or observance day in Georgia and many other Southern States (namely Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia) as a day to honour those who died fighting for the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War.

It was initiated by the Ladies Memorial Association of Columbus, Georgia, in the spring of 1866.

To the present, Southern states continue to have Confederate Memorial days. Though most are still on April 26, others continue to be later in the year.
